Doom Anthology has finally been released on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC, offering fans a comprehensive collection of six Doom games along with some cool collectibles. Priced at $80, this anthology includes a replica BFG collectible and a steelbook case. Initially, the anthology had sold out during preorders on Amazon, but it is now available for purchase on all platforms on its launch day.
On the contrary, Fallout’s Special Anthology Edition faced shortages as it launched alongside various Amazon-exclusive Fallout merch ahead of Prime Video’s well-received TV adaptation. Since its release in February, Fallout Anthology Edition has been sold out and can only be found through resellers.
One noteworthy point to mention is that Doom Anthology is a digital collection, which means that the steelbook case can only be used to store something else. The collection comes with a voucher that can be redeemed on popular platforms like Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, and Nintendo Switch eShop.
The most exciting inclusion in Doom Anthology is the replica BFG, a five-inch collectible with LED lights and a display stand. Although the steelbook case may seem simple compared to the typical eye-catching Doom box art, some fans may appreciate its understated look. It is important to note that the collection does not include physical discs or cartridges; it is entirely digital.
- Doom (1993)
- Doom II
- Doom 64
- Doom 3
- Doom (2016)
- Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition
Given that the collection is digital-only, the PlayStation edition caters to both PS5 and PS4 users, while the Xbox version supports Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. Surprisingly, despite Microsoft’s ownership of ZeniMax Media, the PC version includes a Steam key rather than a Microsoft Store key.
All six Doom games featured in this collection are accessible via an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription for both Xbox and PC users. Currently, Woot is offering 3-Month Game Pass Ultimate prepaid codes for only $36.49, providing a cost-effective way to enjoy these classic games.
Doom Anthology offers a convenient way for fans to experience the core Doom series entries on modern gaming platforms. With the upcoming release of Doom: The Dark Ages, scheduled for 2025, now is an excellent time to revisit these fantastic contemporary Doom games. Additionally, the enhanced editions of the older Doom titles, with added content and improved graphics, make them a worthwhile experience, even in 2024.
