Upcoming Release: On Your Tail Heading to Nintendo Switch
We first caught a glimpse of On Your Tail in the November 2023 Indie World showcase, and now, nearly a year later, publisher Humble Games and developer Memorable Games are preparing for a Switch debut on 21st November.
This game takes you to the charming seaside town of Borgo Marina to unwind, explore, and soak up some sun (and apparently chop onions, as per the trailer). It’s a life simulation game at its core, offering the opportunity to make friends and cultivate relationships with the animal residents (you, too, are an animal). This aspect exudes the familiar vibes of Animal Crossing that we’ve come to love from many eShop releases in recent times.
However, beneath the wholesome surface lies some darker undertones. A thief is causing chaos, and it’s your job to track them down. This detective work resembles crime scene investigations a la Ace Attorney, but there’s also a Deduction Mode inspired by card games where you piece together clues using adorable cutouts.
While it’s an unconventional blend and the main visual style lacks the cutesy charm of Nintendo’s life simulation series, if the two gameplay modes harmonize effectively, this game could bring a warm ray of sunshine during the winter months.
