Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro Gaming Mouse Review

The Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro – Design and Features

The Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro presents itself as the evil twin of the Cherry XTRFY M64 Pro, boasting a symmetrical design in contrast to the M64’s right-handed ergonomics. Priced at $139, this mouse targets gamers seeking the competitive advantage offered by an 8000Hz polling rate and ultralight design, putting it in direct competition with top ultralight gaming mice like the Asus ROG Keris II Ace and Razer Viper V3 Pro. However, much like its sibling, the Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro struggles to hit the mark right off the bat.

SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless

If you want a wired connection or need to charge, you’re in for a surprise with the Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro. Rather than having a USB-C port at the front edge of the mouse like most competitors, it features its charging port on the right side of the device, concealed under a small rubber cover that needs to be removed for access. While navigating with the paracord attached isn’t overly challenging, having a wire protruding from the side may not be compatible with all grip styles.

Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro – Gaming and Performance

The Cherry XTRFY M68 Pro excels in performance, with its sensor providing flawless tracking, instantaneous responsiveness, and no discernible inconsistencies. However, with limited DPI adjustments available only through hardware settings, users are somewhat constrained in fine-tuning their experience. While the mouse’s responsiveness can be enhanced with an 8000Hz polling rate, the practical benefits may not be noticeable to the average gamer.

[It] has the same makings of greatness as the M64 Pro, but it makes the exact same fumbles in an ever-so-slightly different form factor.
