Exciting Update for Warcraft Fans
An update discovered on Blizzard’s internal servers hints at a remastered version of Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness potentially in the works, as reported by Wowhead.
The data, found on Blizztrack, a Battle.net update logger, mentions an internal alpha build that includes artwork and a logo.
Speculation is brewing that official details about this project may be revealed on November 13 during the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, where Blizzard is teasing a surprise announcement.
Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness originally released in 1995 for PC and expanded on its predecessor with new gameplay elements such as aerial and naval warfare. Rumors of a Warcraft 2 remake or remaster have been circulating since 2017, and the original game along with its Beyond the Dark Portal expansion were added to the Battle.net launcher on January 30, 2024.
As of now, Blizzard has not provided any official comments regarding this potential remastered version.
