Developer Hello Games recently announced the arrival of PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements for No Man’s Sky. These enhancements were included in the latest update, ‘The Cursed’, and are now accessible for players who have pre-ordered the PS5 Pro.
The key improvement is the introduction of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), allowing the game to run at a smooth 4K resolution and 60 fps on the PS5 Pro. Additionally, players will have the option to play in an 8K resolution mode, although the frame rate will be capped at 30fps in this setting.
Players can expect a significant upgrade in visual quality with enhanced lighting, ultra-quality reflections, and improved ambient occlusion in the PS5 Pro version. According to the developer, these enhancements will provide players with the opportunity to explore stunning and detailed alien worlds in No Man’s Sky like never before on a console.
It’s Coming to PSVR 2, Too
Initial 8K screenshots reveal a visually impressive game overall. The good news is that these enhancements will also extend to PSVR 2, providing a welcome boost for owners of this VR hardware.
No Man’s Sky originally launched for the PS4 in 2016 to mixed reviews. However, the game has undergone numerous free updates, transforming it into one of the most expansive and detailed space exploration games currently available.
No Man’s Sky is among the 50 games confirmed to receive PS5 Pro enhancements at launch. Other titles in this lineup include Alan Wake 2, Demon’s Souls, Dead Island 2, and Lies of P.
