Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Coming to PS5 in December
After its initial release on PC in 2022 and subsequent launch on Xbox Series X and S in 2023, the horde survival co-op game Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is finally making its way to PlayStation 5.
Players can now pre-order the game, with a scheduled release date of December 3. There are two editions available for pre-order – the standard version priced at $39.99 / £32.99 and the Imperial Edition priced at $59.99 / £49.99.
The Imperial Edition includes additional content such as the Loyalist Pack, Mortis Veteran Portrait Frame, Caducadas Backpack, and 2,500 Aquilas in-game currency. Pre-ordering this edition also grants early access to the game, starting six days before the official release.
The PS5 version of Warhammer 40,000 Darktide will include all the major content updates and enhancements that have been released since the game’s debut. Players can expect to enjoy the recent ‘Unlocked and Loaded’ update, which revamped the game’s weapon progression systems, from the beginning.
Time to go Pro?
The store page for Warhammer 40,000 Darktide on PS5 indicates that the game will utilize vibration and trigger effects on the DualSense Wireless Controller. Additionally, it mentions that the game will be optimized for the PlayStation 5 Pro, although specific details are limited.
According to reports from PlayStation fan website PSU, the PS5 Pro version of the game will run in 4K resolution at 60fps. Regular PS5 owners will have two options available – a Performance Mode running at 1440p with a 60fps frame rate, and a Quality Mode offering 4K resolution at 30fps.
