Streaming Guidelines for Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
Ahead of the release of Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake next week, Square Enix has issued guidelines for streaming the game in Japan.
While players are allowed to share images and videos of the game for non-commercial purposes on social media and streaming platforms, Square Enix has requested the inclusion of spoiler warnings for significant plot details. Additionally, players are prohibited from sharing the game’s ending and post-ending content until after December 13, 2024 (via Siliconera).
“When streaming scenes closely tied to the game’s storyline, kindly mark them as containing spoilers to avoid ruining the experience for future players.
“Avoid live streaming the ending and post-ending content after the final battle until December 13, 2024. Refrain from uploading videos or images.”
Players are also barred from posting videos or playlists solely dedicated to cutscenes or music without featuring standard gameplay in between.
This move by Square Enix aligns with the industry trend of companies like Atlus, Koei Tecmo, and Arc System Works implementing strict guidelines before game releases. Although Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake gives a new look to the classic RPG originally launched in 1988.
