Stellar Blade developer says PC sales are likely to “exceed” the PS5 version

Shift Up Plans PC Release for Stellar Blade in 2025

Developer Shift Up has announced plans for a PC release of their recent action-adventure game Stellar Blade in 2025. This information was shared in the company’s latest earnings report during the Q&A section.

According to Shift Up, the decision to expand the game to PC comes as a response to the growing market on platforms like Steam. The success of games like Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 18 million copies within two weeks, has also motivated the move.

The studio has high hopes for the PC version, stating that they expect it to outperform the original PlayStation release. In addition, Shift Up revealed their plans to maintain the popularity of the Stellar Blade franchise leading up to the PC launch by releasing various content patches and updates.

When Stellar Blade was initially released for PS5 on April 26, it received a glowing review from critics, including a rating of four and a half stars. The game was praised for its deep combat system, stunning set pieces, and top-notch environmental design.

Furthermore, Stellar Blade has been confirmed as one of the upcoming PS5 Pro games, offering special enhancements for the platform. PS5 Pro owners can look forward to two additional graphics modes: Pro for smooth 60 fps gameplay, and Pro Max for 4K resolution at around 50 fps.
