New Stellar Blade Update Punishes Thirsty Players

Eve’s Camera Kick in Stellar Blade: A Nod to Nier

Attention all gamers, the new Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata DLC includes a surprise feature that some may find unexpected. Eve, a character from the DLC, will kick away the camera if players try to look at her inappropriately while using the new cosmetic items. While this may seem like an act of censorship, it is actually an Easter egg paying homage to the Nier franchise.

In the video demonstration below, Eve is seen wearing one of the new cosmetic items from the DLC. When a player attempts to look up her skirt, she reacts by kicking the camera away.

This nod to Nier is not a random addition. In Nier: Replicant, a similar action takes place where players looking at the character Kaine inappropriately receive a swift punishment. The character will even go as far as killing the player if they continue, resulting in a game over screen.

Similarly, in Nier: Automata, the character 2B also prevents players from looking up her skirt by shooing the camera away, although less aggressively than Eve in Stellar Blade.

The Stellar Blade x Nier: Automata DLC was released on November 19, 2024, for PS5 at a price of $9.99. The pack includes a variety of cosmetics for Eve, as well as items for the Drone, Adam, and Lily. Here is a breakdown of what is included in the DLC:

  • Four Nanosuits for EVE
  • One Face Accessory for EVE
  • Three Hairstyles for EVE
  • One Cosmetic for the Drone
  • One Cosmetic for Adam
  • One Cosmetic for Lily

Players can obtain these cosmetics by visiting specific locations in the game, such as the Wastelands or the Great Desert, where they can find Emil’s Shop, a character from Nier: Automata, granting access to the themed cosmetics.

Additionally, Stellar Blade is among the games with PS5 Pro enhancements that allow players to experience solid performance at 4K resolution.
