Level-5’s Mech RPG ‘Megaton Musashi W: Wired’ Receives Online PvP Mode Update
Level-5 made a triumphant return to Western markets earlier this year with the debut of Megaton Musashi W: Wired. Now, eight months later, fans can anticipate a substantial new patch known as the ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ update, set to launch on Switch on November 26th.
The highlight of this update, as revealed in the latest trailer above, is the introduction of a new online PvP mode named ‘Megarobo Batroseum’. In this mode, players can choose from a selection of pre-set mechs and engage in battles either with friends or other players based on match rule preferences. How exciting!
Not only can players enjoy the new Battle Royale and Team Battle modes for one-on-one duels or chaotic free-for-alls, but they can also benefit from new in-game items that boost stats and a fresh ‘Sengi’ system that offers a unique ability to each unit, which can be enhanced during battles.
But wait, there’s more! The ‘Megarobo Batroseum’ update also introduces a range of new stages and pilots, with the latter being usable in certain story missions and online play modes, including the new PvP mode.
All these exciting additions are showcased in the update trailer above, but for those who prefer a written list, the Megaton Musashi website provides a full rundown of the new content.
Upon its initial release on Switch earlier this year, Megaton Musashi W: Wired received high praise. In our review, we hailed it as “a strong revival for Level-5, offering addictive mech-battling action that deserves a lot more attention.”
