As you complete the tutorial, your first task is to head to the town hall and meet Herbert to select your desired profession.

Here is a breakdown of all the professions available along with their corresponding difficulty levels:

  • Cook – 1-Star Difficulty
  • Brewer – 1-Star Difficulty
  • Treasure Hunter – 1-Star Difficulty
  • Blacksmith – 2-Star Difficulty
  • Fisherman – 2-Star Difficulty
  • Jewelry Crafter – 2-Star Difficulty
  • Archeologist – 3-Skull Difficulty

Players aren’t limited to just one profession. They can take on additional professions by paying 500 coins, with subsequent ones costing 10,000 coins and so forth.

Exploration

Exploration is a crucial aspect of the gameplay on Luma Island. Unlike other games, there are no stamina constraints or forced sleep cycles here. Players are free to roam around the town and Island without limitations. As you venture out, keep an eye out for loot piles and treasure chests scattered throughout the environment. The Island is brimming with mysteries waiting to be uncovered, so follow any intriguing lights or pathways you come across. Luma Island encourages players to embrace their curiosity and embark on exciting expeditions.

Tool Upgrades

Tools play a vital role in crafting and performing tasks within your chosen profession. It’s advisable to upgrade your tools as you progress through the game, especially as certain professions require specific tools for optimum efficiency. Begin by upgrading your pickaxe to gather essential ores, followed by your axe for woodcutting. Fishermen should focus on improving their fishing gear to enhance their skills. Prioritize upgrading the tools essential to your profession to maximize your productivity.

Quests

Interacting with NPCs in the town will lead you to various quests on Luma Island. While quests may seem mundane to some, they offer players valuable rewards, often in the form of items or coins. Quests range from aiding in shop repairs to exploring ancient temples. Accept quests from NPCs, complete the tasks assigned, and return to claim your rewards marked on the map.

Lumas

Lumas are adorable companions that play a central role in the game. These charming creatures can assist you in treasure hunting and provide daily Luma Energy crucial for leveling up in your profession. While there are numerous Lumas to collect on the Island, your first step is to complete the Ancient Farm Temple to locate your initial Luma companion. This temple, situated near the homestead entrance, involves solving puzzles, battling monsters, and evading traps until you reach a treasure chest containing a Luma Egg.

Once you obtain a Luma Egg, you’ll require an Incubator to hatch it. Purchasable at the blue and white shop selling blueprints, the Incubator needs Luma Life and Spirit to operate. Combine these components in the Incubator, and patiently await your first Luma companion to hatch.
