After an impressive 31-year run at Sony, Shuhei Yoshida, a prominent figure in the PlayStation world, has bid farewell to the company. Stellar Blade dev pays homage to iconic PlayStation ad with Shuhei Yoshida
In a recent social media post, Hyung-tae Kim shared a nostalgic moment regarding Yoshida’s appearance in the infamous Official PlayStation Used Game Instructional Video. This iconic ad, featuring Yoshida and former PlayStation VP Adam Boyes, humorously illustrated how easy it was to lend PS4 games to friends, taking a subtle jab at the Xbox One.
The post included a side-by-side comparison of Yoshida and Boyes in the original commercial, with Yoshida and Kim recreating the scene alongside a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall. Kim expressed his gratitude towards Yoshida for his contributions and support in the gaming industry.
“I remembered the first time I saw Yoshida Shuhei in a commercial,” Kim translated. “Thank you for all your hard work and support for the gaming world. Thank you very much!”
Yoshida’s departure from Sony was announced in late November, signaling the end of an era. While his next career move remains a mystery, he has expressed interest in continuing his journey within the video game industry.
Shift Up, on the other hand, has been actively supporting its recent release, Stellar Blade, with exciting collaborations like the Nier: Automata DLC pack, featuring new cosmetics for various in-game characters.
