PUBG Creator Reveals Plans for Three New Games
- Brendan Greene, the mastermind behind PUBG: Battlegrounds, has shared details about three upcoming games
- The first game to hit the market will be Prologue: Go Wayback!
- All three games will eventually lead up to the final release of “Artemis”
PUBG: Battlegrounds creator Brendan Greene, also known as ‘PlayerUnknown,’ has unveiled the projects currently in development at his studio, PlayerUnknown Productions.
The first of these titles, an open-world survival game called Prologue: Go Wayback!, is set to launch soon. The game, described on its Steam store page as a platform to “test machine learning-driven terrain generation technology,” showcases the studio’s innovative developments.
This survival adventure places players in an unfamiliar and vast landscape with minimal resources, challenging them to survive armed with just an aged map and essential tools. While it functions as a standalone game, Prologue: Go Wayback! is a pivotal piece in building up to the studio’s ultimate creation, ‘Artemis.’
‘Artemis’ is envisioned as a “massive multiplayer sandbox experience” that integrates the advanced technologies developed in Prologue: Go Wayback! and the subsequent games. The studio is developing Prologue: Go Wayback! using Melba, their proprietary game engine.
If you’re curious about the capabilities of the engine, PlayerUnknown Productions has rolled out a PC tech demo titled Preface: Undiscovered World, allowing players to explore a fully playable, planet-scale world generated using real-time machine learning technology.
While details about the other two upcoming games remain scarce, speculations suggest they may follow a similar theme to Prologue: Go Wayback!.
As of now, there is no official release date announced for Prologue: Go Wayback!, and the confirmed platforms beyond PC are yet to be disclosed.
