Elden Ring: Nightreign to Include Enemies from Dark Souls

FromSoftware has officially announced that Elden Ring: Nightreign will feature enemies from the Dark Souls series.

The unveiling of Nightreign took place during The Game Awards 2024, where it was revealed as a standalone co-op roguelite game set to launch in 2025.

Notably, the action-packed trailer for Nightreign showcased familiar faces from previous FromSoftware titles, including the formidable Nameless King from Dark Souls 3.

In a recent interview with Famitsu, game director Junya Ishizaki confirmed that a “small number” of enemies from the Dark Souls series will make an appearance in Nightreign, influenced by the Night King to enhance the sense of chaos.

While specific details about the bosses in Nightreign remain undisclosed, the studio has teased the game’s plot on social media, hinting at ancestral foes awaiting in the night.

Although it is uncertain if enemies from other FromSoftware games will be featured in Nightreign, there are speculations about references to characters from Bloodborne and the presence of a grappling hook similar to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

A release date for Elden Ring: Nightreign is yet to be determined, but a network test is expected to be conducted next year.
