Capcom Confirms PS5 Pro Enhancements for Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom has officially announced that their highly-anticipated action RPG, Monster Hunter Wilds, will be receiving PS5 Pro enhancements upon its release on February 28, 2025. The game will come with a day-one patch to implement these enhancements, although specific details have not been disclosed by Capcom at this time.

According to a pre-launch update from Capcom, the standard PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds will offer players the choice between ‘Prioritize Graphics’ and ‘Prioritize Framerate’ modes. The former will feature output/rendering resolutions of 3840 x 2160 / 3072 x 1728 at 30 fps, while the latter will provide 3840 x 2160 / 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps.

Capcom has stated that they have been actively addressing rendering issues from the Open Beta Test on X, and are continuously improving the game for its official launch.

After the open beta of Monster Hunter Wilds, concerns were raised regarding the game’s performance, especially in the PC version. In the past, Capcom faced challenges with improving the PS5 performance of Dragon’s Dogma 2, and its subsequent PS5 Pro patch fell short. The proactive approach to developing the PS5 Pro patch for Monster Hunter Wilds before its launch is a promising sign that any potential issues will be dealt with effectively.
