NYT Connections Today – Game #565 – The Answers
Here are the answers to today’s Connections, game #565:
- YELLOW: BREAKFAST SIDES – BACON, GRITS, HASH, TOAST
- GREEN: PUSHES, AS A BUTTON – CLICKS, HITS, PRESSES, TAPS
- BLUE: THEY HAVE A HORN – AFRICA, BUGLER, CAR, UNICORN
- PURPLE: OSCAR-WINNING ACTORS – BRIDGES, IRONS, PHOENIX, WASHINGTON
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: 1 mistake
When I saw PHOENIX and IRONS in the grid, I immediately thought of actors River and Jeremy. I tried to connect them to Denzil WASHINGTON and Kevin BACON, but ended up being “one away”. Eventually, I sorted out the breakfast items and everything fell into place.
The blue group really stumped me. While it’s true that THEY HAVE A HORN, the connection between AFRICA’s horn and a CAR’s horn is quite different. That’s the unpredictable challenge of Connections.
Yesterday’s NYT Connections Answers (Thursday, 26 December, Game #564)
- YELLOW: APPROXIMATELY – ABOUT, AROUND, LIKE, ROUGHLY
- GREEN: TREES – ELDER, PALM, PINE, SPRUCE
- BLUE: SIZABLE, AS AN AMOUNT – HANDSOME, HEALTHY, RESPECTABLE, TIDY
- PURPLE: U.S. STATE ABBREVIATIONS, PER AP STYLE GUIDE – ALA, ARK, MISS, ORE
What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is a popular word game by the New York Times that challenges players to find groups of four items with a common link. Each group’s difficulty level varies, with green being easy and purple very difficult.
You have the opportunity to make up to four mistakes, allowing for some room for error. The game can be played for free on desktop or mobile through the NYT Games site.
Unlike Wordle, NYT Connections is more complex and can trip you up with tricks like homophones. Stay sharp and enjoy the word game challenges!
