Wei Wang’s Astropulse: Reincarnation Game Canceled
Wei Wang, a former Blizzard veteran and talented artist, has unfortunately faced the cancellation of his new game Astropulse: Reincarnation. The game was in development at Imagendary Studios, a company founded by Wang, and its announcement was made just this past April. Recent reports indicate that the studio responsible for the game has also been shut down.
News of the cancellation of Astropulse: Reincarnation and the closure of Imagendary Studios came from artist Julian Calle, as shared by X user Kurakasis, who was involved in the game’s development. This information is being reported as an unofficial statement since an official announcement has not been released. Additionally, the exact timeline of when the game was canceled and when the studio ceased operations remains unclear.
As of now, Imagendary’s website is still active.
Social Media Announcement Regarding Astropulse: Reincarnation
Astropulse: Reincarnation was initially introduced as a single-player sci-fi game that was intended to be a part of a larger transmedia universe, reminiscent of the unsuccessful Unknown 9: Awakening title published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game, described as a shooter/RPG, was first showcased through a five-minute CGI trailer.
According to Imagendary’s website, “Astropulse is a sweeping sci-fi saga that spans multiple media platforms, including games, film, novels, and more. This transmedia odyssey covers billions of years of history, beginning 250 million years ago when Astropulse — a mysterious force — arrives on Earth.”
Despite the initial excitement surrounding Astropulse: Reincarnation, no specific platforms for the game were ever announced.
