Marvel’s new Spider-Man show gets a radical first trailer

Disney Unveils Trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Animated Series

Disney has revealed the first trailer for its highly-anticipated animated series, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the finale of the popular What If…? series. Produced by Marvel Animation and Polygon Pictures, known for their work on Knights of Sidonia and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea, this new series promises to deliver a fresh take on the beloved superhero.

Exploring Peter Parker’s Early Days

The series will focus on Peter Parker’s early days as Spider-Man, but with a twist: in this alternate universe, Norman Osborn will serve as Peter’s mentor instead of Tony Stark. The trailer gives viewers a glimpse into Peter’s origins, showcasing his evolution through different costumes and his interactions with key characters like Otto Octavius and Aunt May Parker.

A Retro Aesthetic

One striking aspect of the trailer is its retro aesthetic, paying homage to the classic comic book style of Spider-Man’s early years. The art style is inspired by the character’s original comic appearances, featuring both homemade suits and the iconic ’60s suit designed by Steve Ditko.

Returning Voice Talent

Fans of the Marvel animated universe will be pleased to know that Hudson Thames, known for his role as Peter Parker in What If…?, will be reprising the character in this new series. Joining him are voice talents such as Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May Parker, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius, and Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to premiere on Disney Plus on January 29th, offering fans a fresh and exciting take on the iconic superhero’s story.
