The Fantastic Four Join Marvel Rivals
The Marvel Universe has been shaped by the Fantastic Four since their debut in 1961, and now they are making their way to Marvel Rivals. NetEase Games has released a teaser image for the Fantastic Four, hinting at their arrival in the game. A new trailer is set to be released on Monday, January 6.
Just like the other heroes in Marvel Rivals, Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing have been given a fresh new look to fit the game’s style. For instance, Mr. Fantastic appears younger and more muscular compared to his traditional comic book appearance. The inclusion of the FF’s helper robot, H.E.R.B.I.E., in the promotional art has sparked speculation that he might be a playable character, similar to Jeff the Land Shark.
The Fantastic Four are being given a spotlight in Marvel Rivals due to their upcoming return to the big screen in 2025. The team will make their Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” following appearances by alternate versions of Mr. Fantastic and Human Torch in recent Marvel films.
To celebrate reaching 20 million players, NetEase is offering a special in-game gift of a chibi version of Galactica until January 10. The developers have also announced that cross-platform progression is in the works. As part of the Winter Celebration event, Marvel Rivals has introduced Jeff’s Winter Splash Festival, a 4v4 Arcade Mode. NetEase has also addressed player feedback in the game’s first patch.
