Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Reveals New Joy-Con Design
Recently, new images have surfaced online claiming to be of a Joy-Con controller for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch successor. This leak adds to the growing collection of information we have about the highly anticipated Switch 2.
These images, posted by accessory companies that are already designing add-ons for the Switch 2, offer a closer look at what we can expect from Nintendo’s next console. The images showcase a new generation of Joy-Con controllers with magnetic attachments and an additional button below the Home button on the right Joy-Con.
Originating from China, the leaked Joy-Con not only reveals the new magnetic attachment feature but also a revised color palette different from the existing Joy-Cons. Additionally, there seem to be enlarged SL and SR buttons, along with a possible mouse-like optical sensor.
If these images are indeed legitimate, it raises speculation about when Nintendo will officially unveil the Switch 2. The Joy-Con reportedly carries a serial number that can be validated on Nintendo’s Warranty page, hinting at the authenticity of the leak. This could mean that Nintendo might reveal its Switch successor before its self-imposed deadline of March 31, 2025.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo’s new hardware, which is expected to launch on the Switch 2. Nintendo has also confirmed that the Switch 2 will be backwards compatible, adding to the excitement surrounding the upcoming console.
