Epic Games Adds Local Co-op Support to Fortnite Festival
Fortnite Festival, the rhythmic action segment of Epic Games’ popular free-to-play game, is set to receive local co-op support next month. This exciting update brings back memories of jamming out with friends in games like Rock Band.
Developed by Harmonix, the same studio behind Rock Band, Fortnite Festival closely resembles its predecessor in terms of gameplay, even supporting guitar-shaped peripherals. With Epic Games announcing local co-op support for Xbox and PlayStation starting January 14th, players can now enjoy the game together in the same room.
The update will allow up to four players to play together locally, with the option to use two plastic guitars simultaneously. While details are scarce, a trailer featuring Snoop Dogg hints at a fun and lively multiplayer experience.
This update marks the first significant feature addition to Fortnite Festival this year, with Epic Games committing to support the game through 2025 and beyond. Following the decision to discontinue themed updates for Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival continues to evolve and grow.
The introduction of local co-op support on January 14th coincides with the end of the current Snoop Dogg-themed season. The upcoming season may feature Vocaloid popstar Hatsune Miku as the next highlighted artist.
