Valorant’s Price Changes
Valorant has recently increased the price of their skin bundles, leading to disappointment among players. The Kuronami Collection in Episode 8, Act 1 was the start of this trend, with an Exclusive tier bundle priced at 9,500 VP compared to the typical 8,700 VP. The latest EX.0 Collection in V25S1 also costs 9,500 VP, but players were more upset about the subpar design of the skins than the price hike.
Looking Back at Previous Bundle Prices
In the past, Exclusive tier bundles costing 8,700 VP included 4 gun skins, 1 melee weapon, a unique reload animation, SFX, a finisher, and 4 color variants. This was the standard players were accustomed to. However, the EX.0 bundle lacked a reload animation, disappointing many players who felt that other Premium tier skins offered better designs and features at a lower price. Some animations were even recycled from previous bundles, sparking accusations of a scam.
What Can Players Do?
To prevent Valorant from continuing down this path, players can take action by refraining from purchasing the bundles. While sharing feedback with developers is helpful, demonstrating low sales is the most impactful way to convey dissatisfaction. If developers see a decline in bundle purchases, they may reconsider their pricing strategy and revert to previous standards.
If players continue to buy bundles despite the price increase, developers may interpret this as acceptance of higher prices for lower quality products. To effect change, players must vote with their wallets and resist the temptation to buy overpriced bundles.
