How to Get Decay Tool and Overgrowth Tool in Enshrouded

Enshrouded Update: Enhancing Building Mechanics with New Tools

Enshrouded update 5 has brought a range of adjustments and upgrades to the existing building mechanics, allowing players to style their buildings in unique new ways. One of the key additions is the Decay Tool, which adds a distinct aged or ancient ruins-type look to your base.

Getting the Decay Tool

To acquire the Decay Tool, players need to speak to the Collector NPC in their village. The Collector NPC can be unlocked by completing the ‘Explore the Hollow Halls’ quest given by the Alchemist. In the Collector’s crafting menu, scroll down to the Tools and Components section to find the Decay Tool.

  • 1 Bronze Bars
  • 1 Limestone
  • 1 Hardwood

Crafting Bronze Bars requires collecting Copper Bars and Tin Bars first. Limestone can be mined in the Nomad Highlands, while Hardwood is obtained by cutting down moss-covered trees in the Revelwoods region.

Using the Decay Tool

Once players have crafted the Decay Tool, they can apply the Decayed effect to various blocks in their base, creating a unique visual effect. The jagged geometrical design is particularly suited for dungeon-style bases. The Decay effect can be added and removed at will, allowing for flexibility in building design.

Getting the Overgrowth Tool

Another new addition is the Overgrowth Tool, which can be obtained by speaking to the Farmer NPC in the village. The Farmer NPC is unlocked early in Enshrouded’s main quests. In the crafting menu, locate the Overgrowth Tool in the Tools and Components section.

  • 3 Grilled Penny Bun
  • 3 Goo

Penny Bun can be found in the Springlands region and cooked on a campfire. Goo is crafted at the Mortar using Dirt, Shroud Liquid, and Bug Dust. Shroud Liquid and Bug Dust have their respective collection methods detailed in the game.

Using the Overgrowth Tool

With the Overgrowth Tool crafted, players can decorate their walls with various flora options. The tool allows for easy swapping and removal of plants, enabling players to create intricate designs like a Shire replica or a hidden treehouse.
