Let’s uncover the answers for today’s Connections, game #603:

  • YELLOW: Comment after an insult – BURN, OUCH, SNAP, ZING
  • GREEN: Tiny amount, with “a” – BIT, LITTLE, MITE, TAD
  • BLUE: Bit of citrus garnish – SLICE, TWIST, WEDGE, ZEST
  • PURPLE: Bungle, with “up” – FOUL, LOUSE, MUCK, SCREW

My rating: Easy

My score: Perfect

Today, I found myself initially grouping SCREW, TWIST, and WEDGE under the category of “Putting together flatpack furniture.” Then, I went down the path of looking for bugs with MITE and LOUSE before finally cracking the code for “Tiny amount, with ‘a'” after a bit of rearranging. It took the clue “Bit of citrus garnish” to see the final groups, resulting in a flawless performance. No ‘Bungle, with “up”‘ moments for me today!

It was a delightful Connections puzzle without any unexpected twists. How did you fare today? Share your results in the comments below!

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game from the New York Times that challenges players to group four items based on common characteristics. Each group varies in difficulty, with green being the easiest and purple being the most challenging. Players are allowed up to four mistakes, providing some leeway in solving the puzzle.

Unlike simpler word games like Wordle, NYT Connections offers more complexity and opportunities for tricks and misdirection. Players must be mindful of homophones and other wordplay that could obscure the answers. The game is accessible for free on the NYT Games site for both desktop and mobile users.
