Tencent Call of Duty challenger Delta Force’s delayed single-player campaign out next week

Following the successful multiplayer launch at the end of last year, the free-to-play tactical FPS Delta Force is gearing up for the release of its delayed single-player campaign mode, Black Hawk Down, set to launch on Friday, 21st February.

Publisher Tencent announced Delta Force in 2023 as a revival of the renowned NovaLogic shooter series. The game was initially anticipated for its single-player story campaign inspired by the movie Black Hawk Down and the classic Delta Force campaign of the same name. However, the campaign didn’t accompany the multiplayer launch in December last year.

Now, Tencent has finally announced the release date for Black Hawk Down, set for 21st February. Players can look forward to an engaging experience, playable solo or cooperatively, as they embody the role of an elite Delta Force operative navigating through a challenging military operation. Tencent has promised more details to follow in the coming days.

Eurogamer contributor Rick Lane had positive impressions when playing Delta Force ahead of its open beta launch, suggesting it could challenge the dominance of titles like Call of Duty and Battlefield. Despite this, the game has faced criticism on Steam, with reports of cheating impacting its overall player experience and resulting in a “mixed” rating.

Currently, Delta Force is exclusive to PC, but plans are already in motion for its release on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 at a later date, including the anticipated Black Hawk Down campaign.
