In Civilization 7, Treasure Fleets play a significant role in gathering valuable Treasure Resources essential for entering the Economic Legacy Path and achieving an Economic Victory. To successfully execute this strategy, players must understand how to spawn Treasure Fleets during the Exploration Age.
How to Spawn Treasure Fleets
Tech Trees Needed
To spawn Treasure Fleets, players must focus on the Cartography Tech Tree during the Exploration Age. This tech tree enables access to distant lands, allowing units to traverse oceans. Investing in Astronomy, Heraldry, and Feudalism will further progress towards spawning Treasure Fleets. Settlers should be sent to distant lands to harvest resources, with coastal settlements being ideal for accessibility.
Establishing Settlements in Distant Lands
Exploring west or east will lead to the discovery of new lands where settlements can be established. Claiming at least five Treasure Resources near the new territory is crucial to advance on the Economic Legacy Path. Focus on resources like Cocoa, Silver, and Gold to spawn the Treasure Fleets.
Fishing Quay and Shipbuilding
Setting up a Fishing Quay in the settlement and investing in Shipbuilding are the final steps to spawning Treasure Fleets. Both can be done in any order. The Fishing Quay is where the fleets will spawn, available as early as the Antiquity Age. Shipbuilding, unlocked after researching Heraldry and Feudalism, allows for resource export from towns to main territories. The UI provides information on when a Treasure Fleet will spawn in the Quay.
How to Use Treasure Fleets
While using Treasure Fleets, it’s important to note that they are considered units and should not travel alone to avoid potential attacks en route to the mainland. Escorting them with naval units is advisable. Once the fleet reaches a settlement’s borders in the main territory and unloads cargo, it will be consumed, granting points and gold for each delivered resource.
