How to Acquire Coal Bait in Fisch
If you’re on a quest to complete the Ashfall bestiary in Fisch by catching the Ashcloud Archerfish, you’ll need Coal bait. This special bait is essential for capturing rare and powerful fish, in addition to aiding with the event. Here’s how you can secure multiple Coal baits.
The First Step: Obtaining a Volcanic Geode
To get Coal bait, you’ll first need a Volcanic Geode. These geodes contain Coal Bait and can be obtained by fishing at the Roslit Volcano using the Magnet bait. Alternatively, you can purchase them from the Traveling Merchant for 600C$ each.
Once you have acquired multiple Volcanic Geodes, open them up to reveal your haul, which may include Coal Bait along with other rewards.
Locating the Roslit Volcano
If you haven’t visited the Roslit Volcano yet, fear not! It can be found on the side of Roslit Bay. Simply hop on a boat from the Shipwright and head east. Once you arrive at Roslit Bay, make your way to the cave entrance into the mountain, near the campfire, and prepare to fish.
For this endeavor, ensure you have the Magma rod, or opt for a fishing rod equipped with the Invincible mutation. Additionally, you can use Coal to fish at other locations like Forsaken Shores for the Cursed Eel, as well as at The Depths for the Ancient Eel, apart from the Limited Ashcloud Archerfish.
The Traveling Merchant roams various locations within the game. Keep an eye out at the docks of Moosewood, Roslit Bay, Sunstone Island, Desolate Deep, and Forsaken Shores for his appearances.
