InZoi Director Isn’t Trying To Steal The Sims’ Thunder

Upcoming Life Simulator Game InZoi Offers Realistic Experience

Life simulator games have long been dominated by EA’s The Sims, which has held the top spot for 25 years since its launch. However, Krafton’s upcoming title, InZoi, is poised to shake up the genre with its realistic characters and expansive scale. Despite the similarities, director Hyungjun Kim emphasized that InZoi is not meant to compete with The Sims but rather offer fans another option in the genre.

During an interview with PC Gamer, Kim expressed his respect for The Sims and the legacy it has established over the years. He acknowledged the complexity of life simulation games and the challenge of capturing the depth of human experiences. InZoi aims to differentiate itself from The Sims through its realistic character designs, in-depth customization options, and AI-driven creative tools.

InZoi was initially slated for early access in late 2024 but was later rescheduled for a PC release on March 28, with plans for a console launch in the future. At Gamescom, GameSpot had the opportunity to explore a demo build of InZoi, offering players unique gameplay experiences such as becoming ghosts after meeting an untimely demise. Additionally, Krafton showcased the InZoi character studio tool on Steam for a limited time.
