The Sinking City 2 gets first gameplay trailer, smashes crowdfunding goal in less than a day

Exciting News for The Sinking City Fans!

Frogwares has launched a Kickstarter campaign for The Sinking City 2, and the response has been phenomenal. In just under a day, the campaign has surpassed its crowdfunding goal, raising over £140K.

The developers have also revealed some exciting details about The Sinking City 2. This Lovecraftian sequel will feature a brand new story with new characters and locations. Set in 1920s America, players will now explore the flooded streets and decaying buildings of Arkham, providing a fresh and eerie setting for the game.

Unlike its predecessor, The Sinking City 2 will focus more on survival horror elements, with combat and exploration taking center stage. While there will still be investigation work available, it is now considered an optional but valuable tool for uncovering secrets, bonuses, and lore. The game will also feature a smaller map that can be explored on foot or by boat, promising a more concentrated and immersive gameplay experience.

Fans can catch a glimpse of the pre-alpha gameplay in the trailer above and find more information on The Sinking City 2’s Kickstarter page. Frogwares plans to release the game on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S later this year. Those interested can still contribute to the crowdfunding campaign, which the developer says will ensure the team has the necessary time and resources to explore new features. With 29 days left in the campaign, there’s still time to get involved.

Frogwares’ previous crowdfunding success with Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened in 2023 has demonstrated the value of such campaigns. The studio found financial stability during uncertain times and hopes to replicate this success with The Sinking City 2, a game that promises to be bigger and more complex.
