Let’s unveil the answers for today’s Connections, game #637…
- YELLOW: COMPUTER INPUT DEVICES MICROPHONE, MOUSE, SCANNER, TABLET
- GREEN: BUILDING MATERIALS BRICK, CONCRETE, METAL, STONE
- BLUE: HELPFUL DEED FAVOR, KINDNESS, SERVICE, SOLID
- PURPLE: #1 SONGS FROM 1982 ABRACADABRA, CENTERFOLD, MICKEY, PHYSICAL
- My rating: Moderate
- My score: Perfect
METAL MICKEY caught my attention in today’s grid, a reference to an obscure 1980s children’s show directed by Mickey Dolenz and a brilliant second single by Suede. However, it was merely a distraction from uncovering the actual answers.
None of the #1 SONGS FROM 1982 have stood the test of time particularly well, although Steve Miller’s ABRACADABRA (distinct from Lady Gaga’s catchy new hit) was sampled by Eminem and remains a memorable tune that will linger in my mind this weekend.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges players to group four items that share a commonality, each group having varying difficulty levels: green being easy, yellow slightly harder, blue often challenging, and purple usually very difficult.
While solving the final group isn’t mandatory, you can deduce it through process of elimination. Additionally, players are allowed up to four errors, providing a bit of leeway.
Unlike simpler games like Wordle, NYT Connections is more intricate with potential pitfalls such as homophones and other language tricks that may mask the answers.
The game is accessible for free on desktop or mobile via the NYT Games site.
