Original Story:
During last year’s MAR10 Day celebrations, Nintendo teased an upcoming Mario Kart ‘big build’ set, hinting at a more detailed kart. After a year of silence, an official LEGO retailer site leaked details about the upcoming set.
According to the Australian LEGO Certified Stores site, the ‘LEGO Super Mario: Mario Kart – Mario & Standard Kart’ set is set to launch on May 15th. Priced at $249.99 AUD, roughly £122 / $158, the set is targeted towards adults with 1,972 pieces and an ’18+’ age rating.
Despite the higher price and age rating, the set offers intricate details on Mario and his kart, making it a visually appealing display piece with posable limbs and a stand.
Here are some images from the Bricks Megastore listing:
While not an official announcement, the Bricks Megastore listing indicates that this glimpse is likely authentic, considering their credibility as the website for all certified LEGO stores in Australia and New Zealand.
Expect Nintendo to officially unveil this set later today during MAR10 Day celebrations. Stay tuned for updates!
