Born Again Episode 3 Review

Episode 3 of Daredevil: Born Again Review

Warning: this review contains full spoilers for Episode 3 of Daredevil: Born Again!

The third episode of Daredevil: Born Again provides a different pace compared to the previous two episodes. This week focuses on Hector Ayala’s trial, leading to various legal twists and turns. While the lawyer drama may not be the most thrilling to watch, Matt Murdock’s arguments for a vigilante add depth to the storyline. Despite the lack of superhero action from Daredevil himself, the episode sets up a complex and tense dynamic between Murdock and the police force, leaving a lasting impact with its shocking ending.

Even though the fate of White Tiger was foreshadowed, the abrupt assassination at the end of the episode still shocks viewers, especially with the involvement of someone bearing the Punisher logo. The show effectively conveys the loss of Hector Ayala, both as a superhero and as a human being, eliciting strong emotions from the audience.

Murdock’s interactions with Ayala prompt introspection into his own vigilantism as Daredevil, hinting at a potential resurgence of his superhero alter ego. The episode raises questions about Murdock’s choices during the trial, with some finding his tactics reckless and theatrical, impacting his credibility as a lawyer.

Wilson Fisk’s Arc and The Punisher’s Presence

Wilson Fisk’s character development continues as his mayoral status changes his perspective on his criminal past. The evolving dynamics between Fisk and his former associates set the stage for future conflicts. The growing presence of the Punisher through symbolism hints at his impending involvement in the storyline, possibly leading to confrontations with those who misuse his icon.
