Pokémon TCG Pocket Update To Remove Trade Tokens Following Player Feedback

Pokémon TCG Pocket Update – Trade Tokens Removed

Earlier this year, Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket introduced its trading feature, which received mixed feedback from players.

Listening to this feedback, the development team has announced significant changes to enhance the trading experience. The most notable change is the elimination of trade tokens, set to take effect by the “end of autumn 2025”.

Trainers should anticipate several other modifications. Here’s the full notice shared via social media:

Trading Update

Thank you for providing feedback on the trading feature in Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket. We are carefully considering your comments and exploring ways to enhance this feature.

Today, we are pleased to unveil the following trading updates that will be fully implemented by the end of autumn 2025. Through these changes, we aim to make trading cards between players more convenient and enjoyable.

Removal of Trade Tokens

– Trade tokens will be entirely eliminated, and players will no longer need to trade cards to acquire the necessary currency for trading.

– Instead, three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity trading cards will now require shinedust.

– Upon opening a booster pack, shinedust will automatically be earned if a card already in your Card Dex is obtained.

– Shinedust is also currently needed for flair; therefore, we are considering increasing the amount provided since it will also be essential for trading. Overall, this adjustment will enable you to trade more cards than before this update.

– Trade tokens in possession of players can be converted to shinedust once they are removed from the game.

– There are no changes to how one-diamond and two-diamond rarity cards are traded.

Additional Updates in Development

– A new feature will be introduced, allowing players to showcase cards they want to trade using the in-game trading function.

These changes are geared towards making trading cards more accessible and enabling more players to partake in trading activities.

Furthermore, besides the aforementioned changes, consideration is being given to accommodating cards that are currently untradable, such as promo cards and two-star rarity cards. Stay tuned for additional updates on this matter in the future.

We eagerly await your feedback as updates are rolled out and remain dedicated to providing the ultimate Pokémon TCG Pocket experience.
