Knights of the Old Republic remake developer Saber Interactive states all its projects are ‘still in development’

Saber Interactive Provides Update on Knights of the Old Republic Remake

  • Saber Interactive has issued a small update on its upcoming projects
  • Its games are still in development, which indicates the Knights of the Old Republic remake is still being worked on
  • It was initially teased all the way back in 2021

A recent update from Saber Interactive brings hope to fans eagerly awaiting the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake.

According to a report by IGN, Saber Interactive’s Chief Creative Officer, Tim Willits, took to Twitter to provide an update on the studio’s upcoming projects. While the KOTOR remake is not explicitly mentioned, Willits confirms that all of the studio’s projects, including the highly anticipated remake, are still in active development.

“Saber Interactive is one of the largest independent developers in the world,” Willits stated. “We are working on numerous games across many different genres. Everything that we have talked about is still in development. We will share information on upcoming games when we have something cool to share.”

After becoming independent from Embracer Group last year, Saber Interactive retained control of its projects, including the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. Despite the challenges faced during Embracer’s series of acquisitions and subsequent layoffs, the future of the remake seemed uncertain for a while.

While Willits stops short of confirming the remake’s progress, there is hope that a more substantial update could be on the horizon. However, no specific timeline has been provided, and fans have been eagerly awaiting news since the initial teaser in 2021.
