Ark: Survival Ascended’s First Expansion Lost Colony Is Coming This Year

Exciting News for Ark 2 Fans

Ark enthusiasts have eagerly awaited more details about Ark 2 since its initial trailer at The Game Awards 2020. Studio Wildcard seems to be inching closer to unveiling more information, as the team has revealed the first original expansion for Ark: Survival Ascended, Lost Colony. This expansion will directly tie the Ark storyline to the upcoming sequel and is set to launch in November.

Players diving into Lost Colony will embody the heroine Mei Yin, voiced by Michelle Yeoh from Everything Everywhere All At Once, as she embarks on a quest to uncover hidden secrets in a new world. The expansion promises to introduce new abilities, gear, builds, beasts to tame, and more. Gamers who preorder this expansion will receive exclusive gameplay preview content immediately upon placing their order.

The Lost Colony expansion will feature multiple animated story sequences crafted by Studio MAPPA, renowned for popular series like Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Chainsaw Man. Joining Yeoh in the voice cast are Madeleine Madden from The Wheel Of Time as Helena Walker and Auli’i Cravalho from Moana as Meeka.

Ark: Survival Evolved initially launched in August 2017, with the updated Survival Ascended version arriving on the current console generation in late 2023. Lost Colony stands as the first expansion designed exclusively for the Survival Ascended update, as previous updates only incorporated content from Survival Evolved with Ascended’s enhanced technology.

Ark: Survival Ascended is now accessible for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The Lost Colony expansion is scheduled for release in November, with preorders opening in June. You can already wishlist the expansion on Steam today.
