Minecraft Adding Live Event And DLC Tied To Movie, Complete With Jack Black

Exciting Minecraft Movie Update

With the highly anticipated Minecraft Movie set to hit theaters on April 4, fans of the game have even more reasons to get excited. In conjunction with the movie release, Minecraft is introducing new downloadable content, a live event, and a free skins pack inspired by the film.

Live Event Details

The live event will transport players to Midport Village, a custom realm within Minecraft where they can interact with the movie characters, embark on missions, and earn exclusive loot. Voiceovers from Jack Black, who portrays Steve in the film, and other cast members like Jason Momoa and Emma Myers, enhance the immersive experience. Players can team up with these characters for multiplayer minigames and earn the exclusive Yearn cape by completing all five challenges.

The live event kicks off on March 25 at 3 PM PT/6 PM ET and runs until April 7, giving players a limited time to enjoy the new content.

Free Downloadables

On March 25, Minecraft players can access a variety of free content related to the movie. This includes a collection of skins featuring the movie’s main characters, allowing players to dress up as Jack Black’s Steve or other heroes like Momoa, Myers, Brooks, and Hansen. The skins even include iconic outfits from the movie trailers, such as Momoa’s distinctive pink jacket.

In addition to the skins, players can also delve deeper into the movie’s world with a free DLC world available in the Marketplace. This content offers elytra races, survival challenges, and stealth missions in a woodland mansion, all of which can be enjoyed solo or with friends.

Don’t forget to catch the Minecraft Movie in theaters on April 4, and keep an eye out for the upcoming animated series announced by Netflix last year.
