In February, Nintendo made it clear that the Game Vouchers would not cover new releases on the Switch 2 in an official announcement on its website. Recently, Nintendo took it a step further by reuploading the YouTube game voucher trailer with specific terms and conditions.
“Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers cannot be redeemed for games exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 and may not be combined with any other sale, discount, or promotional offer unless otherwise specified.”
This reupload caused some confusion among fans – but the situation is now clear! While it may not be the most favorable news that Nintendo is limiting game vouchers to the Switch, with backward compatibility in place, users should still have access to all the games currently included in this promotion on the Switch 2.
