Arc Raiders Dominates Steam Charts, Leaving Rivals in the Dust
Arc Raiders has not only emerged as the top-selling game on Steam this holiday season, but it has also consistently held the number one spot every week since its launch in October. The game’s success is no fluke, even despite some debates over its AI implementation. Gamers have fully embraced this shooter, and it seems to be overshadowing heavy hitters like Battlefield 6—anticipated as a triumphant return for the franchise—and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which many consider a letdown, albeit a well-known name in gaming. Aside from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, it’s tough to pinpoint a title in 2025 that has made a greater splash, and the sales figures back that up.
According to a report by Eurogamer, SteamDB data reveals that Arc Raiders was the top-selling game throughout the 2025 holiday period. The only title that managed to sneak above it was Counter-Strike 2—likely thanks to a surge in in-game purchases rather than actual sales.
This trend goes beyond just holiday sales. Reviewing the SteamDB charts from the week of October 28 to November 4, 2025, Arc Raiders maintained its position at the top among paid games, with the solitary exception being Black Friday, when the Steam Deck took the lead. Even in broader terms, Counter-Strike 2 is the only other title—free or paid—that has surpassed it.
The numbers reflect this dominance in player counts as well. On December 11, 2025, the game recorded its lowest daily player count at 263,615—a figure that most games can only aspire to. Fast forward to New Year’s Day, and that number shot up to 428,579, ringing in the New Year just shy of its all-time peak of 481,966 on November 16, 2025.
Aside from the previously mentioned issues with AI functionality, players appear generally satisfied with Arc Raiders. It won’t be surprising if it hangs onto its top position for a bit longer. With Resident Evil Requiem marking the first big release of 2026 and vying for the throne, there’s a good chance Arc Raiders could reign supreme for at least another month or so.
However, some players are experiencing challenges, such as an annoying glitch that’s causing issues in firefights by preventing proper weapon handling.
