Lost Ark’s newest update, The Art of War, is now live. The update not only includes the new advanced class, The Artist, but also Tulubik Battlefield, where players “have the chance to determine the fate of Rowen and earn rewards in 48v48 Realm versus Realm matches”. We also get the chance to dip into Progression Events – including the Punika Powerpass, Hyper Express Plus and Story Express events – all of which will run from 15th March to 14th June inclusively – the third Ark Pass, Arkesia Grand Prix, “as well as several quality-of-life updates and balance changes”. There’s a new “evolving demo” on the way for the next stand-alone game set in the Falconeer universe, Bulwark: Falconeer Chronicles. In a bid to “forego” the beta route, developer Tomas Sala says the “evolving demo” will be updated “based on real-time player feedback” as the project progresses. The Wii U’s online services are on their last legs. On March 27th, Nintendo is set to close down the eShop for Wii U systems, removing the ability to buy games and download demos although your existing purchases will still be accessible… for now. Storyteller, the Annapurna-Interactive-published puzzler from developer Daniel Benmergui, now has a release date and is launching for PC and Switch on 23rd March. Storyteller, which has been in development for quite some time now (Annapurna was first associated with it back in 2018), is described as a reactive puzzle game about building stories. Essentially, the idea is to build a coherent yarn across a page of comic-book-style panels, placing the appropriate characters, backgrounds, and plot devices to reach the specified outcome – which can range from tales of loves to stories of revenge and betrayal. Baked beans and ketchup maker Heinz has built a tomato awareness campaign in Fortnite, using a map that attempts to recreate one of its own tomato farms. Dubbed “SOS Tomatoes”, the map is designed to highlight a genuine good cause: the falling levels of soil quality worldwide due to over farming. Information on the map will detail more about the threats to soil health – and hopefully provide some proper STEM learning. The messy saga of Disco Elysium studio ZA/UM – which has been embroiled in a series of legal tussles relating to the involuntary departure of key team members in 2021 – has reached a new milestone, with the company announcing several of those lawsuits have now been resolved. Following reports that E3 2023 would be a no-show for PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo, Microsoft has confirmed it won’t have a show floor presence at this year’s event – although its recently announced online showcase will be part of an E3-branded week of digital shows. Tactical first-person shooter, Lemnis Gate, is closing down. Whilst the shooter was only released in September 2021, developer Ratloop Game partnered with publisher Frontier to confirm the closure, saying the game will be pulled from sale on 11th April 2023, and shut down completely on 11th July 2023.
