Larian Studios has disclosed the anticipated release date for the highly awaited Patch 8 of Baldur’s Gate 3, which is just a few days away.
It seems like ages have gone by since Larian first teased Patch 8, with a full two months elapsed since the studio shared the details of what is intended to be the last major update for Baldur’s Gate 3. However, fans won’t have to wait much longer, as Larian confirmed in a recent online post. “Patch 8 will be ready to roll out on Tuesday, April 15th,” the developer announced, much to the excitement of the community (count me in!).
The studio also revealed that a special Twitch stream will take place on April 16 to celebrate the arrival of Patch 8. Senior systems designer Ross Stephens will be joined by senior communications developer Aoife Wilson to showcase some of the twelve new subclasses included in the update. Additionally, a special discount of 20% is now available on Steam, making it a great time to grab the Dungeons & Dragons RPG.
Patch 8 is set to bring numerous enhancements, including new abilities, animations, spell cantrips, dialogues, summons, and more when it launches on April 15 – and this is just scratching the surface. Furthermore, cross-play functionality will finally be enabled across all platforms compatible with the RPG.
While I’m eager to explore the Circle of Stars subclass personally, the arrival of Patch 8 feels somewhat bittersweet since it symbolizes the conclusion of an incredible journey for Baldur’s Gate 3. Fortunately, Hasbro has stated they’re actively engaging with numerous partners regarding the development of the next Baldur’s Gate installment, in addition to working on a separate new D&D game. Meanwhile, Larian is also developing its own “two very ambitious RPGs”.
“I hope I get to play him again”: Baldur’s Gate 3’s Astarion would love to play the RPG’s beloved vampire in a sequel, joking he’d “have to be dead” before being recast– Astarion
