Larian Studios has at last rolled out Patch 8 for Baldur’s Gate 3, following extensive months of stress testing and fervent anticipation from its fanbase. However, some of the bugs addressed in this final update have left players longing for the aspects they’ve removed—particularly those of an NSFW nature.
According to Larian’s official patch notes, this highly anticipated final update introduces a variety of new features to the game, including cross-play and twelve new subclasses. It also resolves numerous recurring issues within Baldur’s Gate 3, addressing problems with modding, pathing, and more. Yet, not all fixes have been welcomed, particularly among those who appreciated the previously available in-game armor and clothing options.
A recent discussion in Reddit underscores this sentiment, with the original poster humorously lamenting, “Patch 8 has made the game literally unplayable.” The post includes a screenshot highlighting one notable patch fix addressing the game’s notorious nip slips: “Adjusted the Dark Justiciar Half-Plate for female characters, which, when worn without underwear, was allowing unwanted visibility.”

Feedback from the gaming community indicates that the removal of the NSFW bug has not only frustrated some players. One commenter humorously remarked that the game now feels “literally 1984,” referencing another fix which “adjusted the Adamantine Scale Mail armor on female dwarves to better conceal.” Another user proclaimed, “Modders to the rescue,” while another plea urged Larian to “reverse the patch right now!”
Suggestions have been made for players to simply “play with your camp clothes visible and no camp clothes or underwear equipped”—for the sake of preserving the gameplay experience. “There is a no clothes at camp policy. If we are all going to be on the road together, we all have to be comfortable with each other. It’s the ultimate show of trust.” As a dedicated fan of Baldur’s Gate 3 myself, it’s hard for me to disagree. My companions and I have endured much more throughout our adventures.
With the arrival of Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 8, Larian Studios has also unveiled a new animated short to celebrate the RPG’s final update—essentially canonizing my favorite ship.
