Baldur’s Gate 3 Update Lets Fans Marry Astarion in Baldur’s Village Mod, Endorsed by Larian’s Swen Vincke

The developer behind the popular mod that blends Stardew Valley with Baldur’s Gate 3 has unveiled a significant update, allowing eager fans of Astarion to finally marry the stunning vampire elf.

Titled Baldur’s Village, this fan-driven expansion, available on Nexus Mods, introduces elements from the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 along with its unique characters to the Stardew Valley experience. The brains behind this ambitious project, Xun, has had quite an eventful path since the mod’s release. It garnered attention and endorsement from Larian Studios head Swen Vincke, faced a DMCA takedown issued by Wizards of the Coast, and was later reinstated after an official apology from the D&D publisher.

Since that time, Xun announced that development on the mod would “continue as planned” — and it certainly has. A recent update shared by the creator highlights the latest version of Baldur’s Village, now at 1.6.2. This update includes Astarion’s much-anticipated 10-heart event, complete with wedding reactions from other Baldur’s Gate 3 companions who are part of the celebration. Additional modifications have been made to improve character dialogue and enhance several visuals in this latest release.

The excitement surrounding the mod is heightened following the recent DMCA issues, with more developments promised by Xun. In a previous Q&A on their Patreon, Xun mentioned plans to introduce more characters from Baldur’s Gate 3 to Baldur’s Village, with the potential for additional marriage candidates aside from Astarion based on community feedback and funding efforts — including possible appearances from Minthara, Jaheria, and Minsc, which are still up for consideration.
