In recent months, several high-profile titles have found themselves in hot water for allegedly incorporating AI-generated assets, and now it seems Battlefield 6 might join this list. Players have been scrutinizing artwork and discovered several instances demonstrating clear signs of generative AI involvement, raising eyebrows about the game’s overall quality.
A notable case comes from the RPGs Vs Golf Carts mode featured in Portal. The image in question portrays a cartoonish character in a cart, flanked by soldiers launching rockets. Fans quickly pointed out that this artwork seems oddly disjointed when juxtaposed with other visuals that stick closely to in-game aesthetics, suggesting it might have been crafted by an AI.
Players have eagerly compiled more examples throughout EA’s renowned FPS franchise. This includes everything from weapons that look less than polished to strange tags that totally defy logic when you take a closer look—like guns with no triggers or animals missing limbs, resulting in a visual mess. One eagle’s wing, for instance, is inexplicably oriented the wrong way.
“This game was made as cheap as possible to maximize profits. It’s hollow and low effort with no love or passion.”
A disgruntled user on Reddit
While it’s hard to say definitively whether these assets were indeed AI-generated, the community is expressing dissatisfaction and concern, stating that they tarnish the game’s reputation. Another user voiced their frustration: “Now I’m considering even booting up this game. Like this is just stupid. This game has barely any content; how dare they give us slop like that?”
Battlefield 6’s developers are reportedly aware that the Winter Offensive update has been riddled with “unexpected behaviors” and are actively addressing these issues. “Your experience and your feedback matter,” they noted, but as it stands, EA and the Battlefield studios have yet to publicly respond to the growing concerns surrounding AI usage. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
