Battlefield 6 is all about explosive action and unpredictable gameplay, but players shouldn’t be dropping dead for no reason. It turns out there’s a bug causing some rather funny yet frustrating deaths, and the developers have identified the issue.
In certain situations, players have reported unexpectedly keeling over after jumping—even just a little. Imagine this: you get back up, brush off the dust, and then suddenly drop again in a deserted hallway, far from any hazards like bullets or debris.
A YouTuber known as Dynamic shared a clip highlighting this bizarre bug, joking that EA and the Battlefield team were out to limit player movement after all the back-and-forth discussions about the game’s pacing. Fortunately, that isn’t the case, as one of the game’s leaders confirmed that they are actively working on a fix.
Players Cause Havoc with Sledgehammers
Interestingly, Battlefield 6 players have also been using sledgehammers to wreak havoc in the game. In response, the developers are actively hunting down these exploits, reassuring players that “it won’t work anymore.”
Moreover, gamers have discovered ways to fly around the maps using ladders, a move that EA has promised to patch soon as well. It seems like players are finding creative ways to bend the rules, keeping the devs on their toes.
Bug Fixes and Developer Insights
As for the jumping bug, Florian Le Bihan, the principal game designer, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to shed some light on the situation. He explained, “Seems to happen if you’re initially killed while falling from a great height, then revived and jump again afterwards. We’ve found the issue; fixing.”
After one player commented that they faced this bug ten times, Dynamic shared that this was the first instance they’d encountered it. Clearly, EA and the Battlefield teams have been made aware of the frequency of these funny mishaps. In a light-hearted reply, Le Bihan remarked, “Nah we don’t break knees on purpose.”
While many game deaths can be chalked up to a lack of skill, this bug is a whole different ballgame. If your time in matches is cut short too often, consider switching things up and getting some practice in. A new casual mode was introduced recently to help players get the hang of it, but until the hotfix lands, be mindful of those heights!
