Star Wars Battlefront 2, the relatively recent entry developed by EA — distinct from the 2005 edition made by Pandemic — has faced ongoing challenges from hackers on the PC platform. The community has become increasingly vocal in its calls for solutions regarding these issues. Notably, the latest news of an official fix has emerged from an unexpected source, a custom server team.
Based on community feedback recently highlighted by IGN, the PC release of Battlefront 2 has encountered a significant hacking issue that prevents players from spawning in the game’s primary 40-player modes, rendering those specific match types unplayable. The official EA forums have been inundated with requests for a resolution, and it appears a fix has finally been implemented.
“We can now confirm that EA has deployed a server-side fix to prevent some of the exploits from being used to interfere with official game servers,” stated a post from Kyber, a community group focused on creating custom servers for the game. “While we cannot divulge too many details, we can confirm that they are listening and will persist in their efforts to develop fixes independently and in collaboration with KYBER and the broader STAR WARS Battlefront II modding community.”
Although EA has yet to provide official commentary on this development, the notion that the developers are engaging with modders to address these problems is certainly intriguing. This collaboration could be crucial as custom servers might be the only viable option for ensuring the longevity of a game like Battlefront 2 in the future.
