After a surprising glitch marked down the price of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition to a mere $17.49 on the Switch 2, CD Projekt Red has confirmed the error but will honor the purchases made. Just last week, on December 22, the Nintendo Switch eShop lit up with what felt like an unexpected holiday treat, given that the title typically retails for $70, especially considering it only launched six months ago.
The situation was made even more peculiar when observers pointed out that the much older The Witcher 3 was still listed at $34.49. Initially, a press release laid out the intention behind the discounts, but CD Projekt Red quickly took to BlueSky, clarifying, “The discounts for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition displayed on Nintendo Switch 2 eShop in the Americas on December 22, 2025, were incorrect, a result of an error we made when submitting the discount.”
It turns out the intended discounts were swapped; The Witcher 3 was supposed to be at 42% off while Cyberpunk was meant to reflect a 75% drop. If you were fortunate enough to snap up Cyberpunk 2077 at the discounted price, congratulations—CD Projekt Red is letting those purchases stand.
In a related note, there’s been chatter about the game’s elevators not just being clever loading screens in disguise, a comment from the lead designer suggesting that “the engine is a miracle.”
