CloverPit, characterized by its creators at Panik Arcade as “the demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette” on Steam, has rapidly captivated gamers with its unique blend of roguelite gameplay and gambling elements. However, not every player appears to be excelling at it. Panik Arcade seems to humorously suggest this, especially after an interaction with streamer Kliffoth, who shared on social media that the developers tuned in to his gameplay stream just to poke fun at his alleged skills.
In a recent post, Kliffoth humorously exclaimed, “WHY AM I BEING VIOLATED BY THE CLOVERPIT DEVELOPERS?” Alongside this, he uploaded a screenshot showcasing what the game’s co-creator had messaged him during the live stream. The message read, “Hey, I’m co-developer of this game, and I really appreciate you playing it. It looks like you have some fun too! That’s really great. However, we never intended for players to struggle this much. I suggest looking up some guides online, as you’re completely clueless and probably OUR worst player so far.” It’s a harsh jab that’s nonetheless delivered in a light-hearted manner, ensuring no bad blood exists.
After managing to evade the anticipation surrounding Silksong, this Balatro-inspired slot machine roguelike surpassed expectations by selling an impressive 100,000 copies on its launch day.
Kliffoth continued to share his sentiments, noting, “I think it’s very funny! I took it in good spirits, and we had a good laugh.” He went on to wholeheartedly endorse the game in the thread’s replies, despite the playful banter from the developers: “CloverPit is also INSANELY good, so I 100% recommend it; these guys deserve your money.”
On a positive note, Kliffoth mentioned that his proficiency in the game has increased: “I then proceeded to get 200 million coins.” He might be onto something about CloverPit being “INSANELY good.” Currently holding thousands of glowing reviews and a “Very Positive” overall rating on Steam, it’s clear that many agree with Kliffoth. Notably, Panik Arcade’s impressive feat of selling over 100,000 copies in just one day further solidifies the title’s remarkable reputation.
