Following its highly anticipated full release last month, Hades 2 has seen a few minor hotfixes, but now fans can look forward to a significant update. The upcoming patch, previewed by the game’s developer and publisher Supergiant Games in a recent Steam announcement, brings extensive changes, particularly affecting the true ending of the game.
This update marks a major shift, introducing “true ending enhancements” that modify the journey leading to this ending. Players will encounter new events both before and after the true ending, adding depth to the narrative. According to Supergiant Games, “as part of this,” the patch has increased “the number of Underworld clears required” and has revised segments of the main True Ending scenes prior to the credits. The developer emphasized that “the vast majority of changes are to the Underworld route; the Surface route remains largely the same,” pointing to a focused enhancement in one area of the game.
Additional Features and Improvements
But that’s not all the update has to offer. The new preview introduces a Cauldron incantation that allows players to “return to an earlier point in the story to re-experience key events, such as the True Ending.” This feature proves to be quite beneficial, especially in a game renowned for its intricate narrative and diverse player choices.
Furthermore, players can look forward to updates on Fated Prophecy elements. A number of character-related Prophecies—including one linked to the story’s epilogue—are expected to unfold at a quicker pace than they did previously. The sanctuary known as The Crossroads, which acts as a hub between the Underworld and the Surface, also sees some changes; many decorative items now come with a reduced Kudos cost. In addition, Supergiant Games reassures players that “any excess Kudos you have already spent will be refunded,” enhancing the overall experience.
The complete update is rich with further adjustments and enhancements, so players are encouraged to check out the full patch notes. Don’t forget to sign up for the Steam Beta branch to explore these features.
