Krafton, the developer behind InZOI, has issued a fix for a glitch that allowed players to run over and eliminate characters, including children, using vehicles.
According to a report from IGN, InZOI players were taken aback by the ability to perform such extreme actions in a game rated Teen by the ESRB, especially given that it did not disclose the option to run over children with a car. While the rating mentions fatalities due to “traffic accidents,” it lacks any reference to the outrageous act of vehicular attack that sends characters flying through the air with ragdoll physics.
However, this shocking occurrence was illustrated in a NSFW video shared on Reddit, titled “I don’t think that Krafton realizes that you can run over children in InZOI.”
Although many commenters concurred that hitting kids with cars in InZOI seems entertaining, the developers were less amused. A Krafton representative commented to IGN that “this issue was caused by an unintended bug that has been resolved in the latest patch” and “these depictions are highly inappropriate and do not reflect the intent and values of InZOI.”
“We understand the seriousness of this matter concerning age-appropriate content and are enhancing our internal review procedures to prevent similar occurrences going forward,” Krafton added.
The title recently launched and received mixed reviews from critics, while our own unscored evaluation describes it as “a lifeless replica of the least appealing aspects of The Sims.” Additionally, it seems that playing Rocket League with children as the ball is no longer an option.
As Krafton continues to fix the bugs in InZOI, developers advise avoiding repeated remarriage and, if necessary, to only proceed when there are no children present.
