The most recent update for Lethal Company was released back in December 2024. However, the game’s developer, Zeekerss, has recently been immersed in playing Repo, an absurd multiplayer indie horror title, and is now gearing up to develop the next patch.
In a fresh post on Patreon, Zeekerss mentioned, “For the last couple of weeks, Repo has been the game of choice for my friends and me, and we’ve been playing it constantly. The most exciting aspect of Repo is likely the large items that require multiple players to carry, making it feel a bit like a moving simulator.”
However, they have expressed some concerns as well. Zeekerss remarked, “The latency issues make it nearly impossible to effectively use melee weapons unless you are the host.” Additionally, they proposed two potential enhancements: “What if instead of a static loading screen, players could actually drive the truck as a physics-based vehicle, moving between different areas? You could select from various shops and perhaps other types of locations.”
They also realized that while that idea might not be entirely feasible, a more viable option could be “to bring furniture back into the truck for safekeeping,” enabling a more comfortable travel experience for friends.
Often, taking a break from one’s own creations to engage with another work can spark fresh ideas. Zeekerss reflected, “Playing Repo has possibly inspired me to return to Lethal. I’ve started working on V70, and I’ve drafted a document detailing my vision for Lethal Company leading up to early access. I’m feeling quite energized about this. I can’t tell if it’s a seasonal thing or simply due to switching creative projects, but it will take some time.”
Hence, players can anticipate new content for Lethal Company in the future, although it might not arrive in the immediate term.
